Soldatou Alexandra

Alexandra Soldatou is an AssociateProfessor of Pediatrics at the University of Athens Medical School. She received her Medical Doctorate from the University of Athens Medical School on a National Scholarship for high academic achievement. She completed a residency training program in General Pediatrics at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA, USA. The same year, she received the American Board of Pediatrics certification in General Pediatrics. Following residency, she received subspecialty training in Pediatric Immunology and Bone Marrow Transplantation at the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, in London, UK. Upon her return to Athens, she joined the Bone Marrow Transplantation Research Laboratory, “Elpida – Marianna Vardinogianni Hospital”, where she completed her doctorate thesis in hematopoietic stem cell biology. She has served the University of Athens Medical School as a full-time staff Pediatrician since 2004, initially at the 1 st Dept. of Pediatrics, and subsequently at the 2 nd Dept. of Pediatrics. She has served as a member of the Pediatric committee of the EMEA. She is a member of national and international scientific associations. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Her scientific interests include Pediatric Immunology and General Academic Pediatrics. She publishes her work regularly in international peer-reviewed scientific journals. She is responsible for a research and national educational program on the prevention and management of Child Abuse.
